Caused by climate change and a heightened concentration of fertilizers in the Baltic Sea, algal blooms are occurring, during which cyanobacteria multiply exponentially due to favourable conditions. This animation imagines a possible future, in which the Baltic Sea is affected by a catastrophic algal bloom during the summer.
